Elaine S. Dalton

Elaine S. Dalton is best known for her service as the Young Women General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2008 until 2013. She describes her experience of serving as a grand privilege and blessing in her life.
Elaine currently serves on Utah Valley University’s Board of Trustees and is the former Chair of the Board of Trustees. She is also currently serving on the Utah Community Builders board.
Elaine is the author of three books for women and young women and a sought after public speaker to groups of young women and women about their identity and potential. She attended Brigham Young University where she earned a bachelor's degree in English.
Elaine was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. She is married to Stephen E. Dalton, and they are the parents of five sons and one daughter. After 50 years of marriage they find themselves surrounded by 21 blond haired grandchildren! She enjoys being outdoors, hiking with her family and dancing with her granddaughters. She has run 17 marathons and qualified for and completed two Boston Marathons.
Elaine loves life and believes in people. She feels her greatest accomplishment is being a wife and mother. She has great confidence in the rising generation of noble youth. She often says “I believe that one virtuous young woman or young man can change the world!”
