APPLYING FOR A SCHOLARSHIP

Applying for one of the single mother scholarships offered by the Stella H. Oaks Foundation can be accomplished in five steps:

1.      Make sure you meet all scholarship eligibility criteria

2.      Fill out an online application form (email scholarship@stellahoaks.org with application and scholarship-related questions)

3.      Provide the required supporting documents via upload in the online application form

4.      Submit your completed online application and required documents by the deadline (see application deadlines below)

5.      Eligible applicants will be invited to interview with our scholarship selection committee

All scholarships are granted on a per semester/term basis only. To apply for additional semesters, applicants must fill out an online renewal application form and provide the required renewal supporting documents by the deadlines to be eligible for consideration of any additional awards.

Tips

-Be sure you are applying for the correct semester. We are currently accepting applications for 2024 Fall.
-If you are divorced, you will be asked to submit page one of your divorce decree. If you are widowed, you will be asked to submit a death certificate. If you have never been married, you may upload a document that simply states, “I have never been married” and sign your name.
-School transcripts do not have to be official. You may upload screenshots or an unofficial transcript downloaded from the school website.
-If you are applying to have your scholarship renewed, you do not need a new letter of recommendation each time you apply. We will notify you if we need an updated letter. You may upload your old letter or upload a note saying you have previously submitted a letter of recommendation.
-Please redact (black-out) all social security numbers on tax forms, death certificates, and divorce papers.
-If there is a safety concern that prohibits you from signing the media release for the use of your picture or information, please email us at scholarhsip@stellahoaks.org.
